Bringing 18 years of foundry experience to lead operational excellence at Great Lakes Castings.

Great Lakes Castings is proud to announce the addition of John Smeltzer as Director of Operations, effective October 13, 2025. John joins us from Donsco, Inc., where he served as Plant Manager and developed a deep expertise in green sand and no-bake molding, iron, and aluminum casting.

With more than 18 years in the foundry industry, John brings a proven ability to lead teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and cultivate high-performing, safety-focused cultures. Holding a B.S. in Business Administration from Lock Haven University, his leadership and experience will play a key role in advancing our operational excellence and meeting our customers’ highest expectations.
